Outdoor First Aid Courses

We now have a course discount available when booking Outdoor First Aid, Safeguarding and First Aid for Mental Health. All three courses need to be completed within 2 month, for this discount. Separately this would be £300, if combined it will be £240.

Outdoor First Aid (OFA) is designed for the outdoor educator and practitioner. This is the main physical first aid course I provide.

My experience working with groups from all backgrounds in a variety of activities including; all girl summer camps; stag and hen parties; university development; family groups etc.; kayaking; canoeing; walking; climbing; coasteering; gorge walking; bushcraft; mountain biking; team building etc. These activities and programs have also taken place in a variety of environments and countries which can be very remote, including Malaysia, New Zealand, America, South America, Europe, Africa to name a few.

Through working and personal recreation I have experienced a wide variety of incidents and has needed to deal with them in an appropriate manner for that scenario. This has lead me to designing this course for the outdoor professional in mind, looking at the real world scenarios that you could face while with a group or while out personally.

This course will typically be delivered in Carmarthenshire a rural setting. Since June 2020 I have changed this course, day one is manly theory, day two putting things into context. Things are currently all socially distant through this process and course numbers 1:8 at a maximum

Catastrophic Bleeding Control

This is a one day workshop where we increase the knowledge and understanding from the two day outdoor first aid course. This one day workshop aims to equip learners in how to deal with Catastrophic Bleeding. It will advise on the inherent dangers associated with the use of Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings, whilst administering first aid in a high risk environment for the purpose of saving life. It has been developed to meet the requirements of industries that consider themselves to be at high risk following a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.
